PRESS RELEASE
Now Open For Dinner
When Stewart and Cindy Penick founded the SouthPark area's Terrace Café in Piedmont Town Center, they imagined a place where friends and family could gather to enjoy a meal made from scratch. Visions of homemade items like biscuits, country sausage, dressings, jams and fresh mozzarella came to mind.
Locals began relying on Terrace Café to get their day going. For hungry executives, at 7:00am, Terrace Café came to the rescue. Breakfasts of champions, like "Y" Omelets and Breakfast Casserole, were served alongside sumptuous dishes like Red Velvet Waffles, S'mores French Toast and Shrimp and Grits. Even the most persnickety kids learned to love breakfast with Terrace Café's Animal-shaped pancakes.
Lunch followed suit and kept customers swooning with appetizers like seasonal fritters and fried green tomatoes. And since all of the Terrace Café dressings are made in-house, unique salads like the Terrace Café Oyster Caesar Salad, Hawaiian Chicken Salad and Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad shot to the top of a long list of regular favorites. The best hot corn beef on marble rye outside of New York City found its way onto the Terrace Café lunch menu, along with entrees like Chicken Paillard, Salt and Pepper Catfish and uber healthy Oven Roasted Salmon. Healthy items marked with the "Y" on Terrace Café menus are approved by a YMCA nutritionist.
The Terrace Café became a coffee lover's destination, with its full service coffee bar serving specialty beverages from drip coffee to exotic lattes and Vela Delights cupcakes.
Under Executive Chef Thomas Kerns and the general management of Jacob Penick, Terrace Café became an instant classic. It wasn't long before patrons clamored for a dinner menu, and on February 1, 2010, they got their wish.
Dinner at Terrace Café arrived in Piedmont Town Center with a big splash. Appetizers include Butternut Squash Soup with Truffle Sour Cream, New Orleans Fried Scallops with Lobster Hollandaise, Boston Bibb and classic salads. Montana Ranch Steak & Egg with Crawfish, Leek, Bacon and Smoked Gouda Pancakes, Maple Horseradish Veal Chop, and Eden Farm Pork Tenderloin with Black-eyed Pea Succotash are just a few entrees that promise to take dining in SouthPark and throughout Charlotte to culinary heights.
Amidst all of the culinary creations, delicious surroundings add to the Terrace Café experience. Interior designer Brent Baronofsky created a dining environment that "calls" to its customers, encouraging them to relax and enjoy, no matter how much time they have to spend at Terrace Café. In the world's major Metropolitan cities, nearly as many people dine alone, as they do in pairs or groups. Like several of Manhattan's finest restaurants and coziest diners, Terrace Café features a community table as well as a breakfast counter designed for lone diners to feel more comfortable, to say nothing of the social pleasures sitting at the counter affords. Additionally, handmade wrought iron railings lend a timeless feel to the modern Café.
Terrace Café serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week from 7:00am to 2:30 pm. The coffee bar is open from 7:00am until 9:00pm. Dinner is served Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 9pm. Terrace Café offers catering services and take-out orders. Reservations for dinner are suggested.
